Wines of the month

January 10, 2017

As we enter a new year, we’re pleased to present our favourite wines available in our bar and restaurant this January. We’ve selected a white, red and a rose, 2 of which are our house pours, to help you through the month.

We have a chilean Sauvignon blanc by Volandas. It’s fresh, crip with citrus aroma and packed full of aromatic fruit flavours. Restrained herbal aroma of grass and green pepper whilst light, zippy and refreshing with tomato leaf and elderflower. A firm favourite and perfect with salad, roasted vegetables and cod.

Our red wine pick is a South African pinotage Shiraz. The perfect blend for any red meat, this wood matured extra smooth red is bursting with flavours of deep plum, espresso and shades of chocolate. Made from local star pinotage, plus shiraz and cabaret, its a full bodied muscular red wine from the 70 year old Douglas Green Winery.

The pinot grigio rose is a fruity wine with floral notes and hints of cherries. A crisp rose for everyday drinking, this Italian rose is ideal with starters and perfect to accompany our cod dish.
